About the authors

Amara Emmenegger is a lively and imaginative young girl who attends kindergarten. She enjoys cooking and baking with her mother and has a special fondness for sushi. Amara loves animals and often imagines herself as a white wolf or a snowy owl. Amara's natural curiosity and thoughtful questions are forming the heart of this book.

Marcel Emmenegger has lived a life as diverse as the landscapes he calls home. Born in Switzerland's Alpine Hinterland Marcel began his journey at a local business school, blending studies with hands-on training at Metrohm, a local tech company. After graduation and completing his Swiss Army service, Marcel's career path took him abroad, working in irrigation on a kibbutz in the desert, the hospitality industry on Kenya's Lamu Island, and as an assistant merchant in Panama's Free Trade Zone. Returning to Switzerland, Marcel served as private secretary to a Zurich based investor, later organizing Corporate Social Responsibility events for his companies. When fate introduced him to a Thai politician and banker during a bicycle ride through Bangkok, his journey took another turn. Marcel became the politician's office manager, before eventually returning to Switzerland, where he transitioned into social work, applying his broad international experience to community service. Marcel also has degrees in Public Governance from ETH Zurich and Continental Philosophy from St. Kliment Ohridski University, Sofia. He lives in Herisau, Switzerland, where he finds joy and inspiration in his work, his surroundings, and his daughter, Amara, whose questions and curiosity form the heart of this book.
